Written and directed by Maggie Carey, The To-Do List is a comedy about a young woman, played by the wonderful Aubrey Plaza, who proactively decides to gain some sexual experience before heading off to college. Due to its subject matter, the script for this flick was deemed not producible because, c'mon, a female who is curious about sex? I mean, a young man, no problem. But a young woman? We as a culture collectively shudder to think. There are names for such a creature.

Inspired by events from Carey's teenage years, the screenplay for The To-Do List (formerly titled The Hand Job) made its way around Hollywood insiders for quite a while, grubbily passed from hand to hand, gaining a lot of fans in the industry.
