Unico. Uno come Michael Shannon non ha bisogno di essere diretto. E' arrivato sul set già molto preparato. Avevamo parlato di questo film durante un party circa due anni fa. Poche volte mi è successo di vivere situazioni nelle quali non avessi l'impressione di trovarmi davanti il personaggio reale o nelle quali abbia dovuto spiegargli come interpretarlo...
Avere Ray Liotta, poi, è stato un sogno. Lui è una leggenda. E volevo qualcuno a Hollywood che potesse risultare minaccioso se posto di fronte a Shannon. L'abbinamento dei due è stato fondamentale per il film. »
