Dopo l'uscita a febbraio di Episodio I: La Minaccia Fantasma in stereoscopia tridimensionale, George Lucas ci fa sapere dalla Star Wars Celebration VI in svolgimento ad Orlando che i rimanenti episodi non avranno una cadenza annuale ma entrambi i film usciranno nel 2013.La LucasFilm a fronte degli ottimi risultati ottenuti al botteghino, circa 102 milioni di dollari incassati in tutto il mondo per l'edizione 3D del primo episodio per un investimento di 20 milioni per la riconversione, farà uscire nei cinema Episodio II: L'attacco dei Cloni il 20 settembre 2013 ed Episodio III: La Vendetta dei Sith l' 11 ottobre 2013. »
