Due mesi fa Variety aveva riportato che l'attore Hugh Laurie era in trattative per entrare nel cast di Robocop al fianco di Joel Kinnaman nel ruolo del villain. Ora, però, arriva la conferma che Laurie non sarà nel film.E' sempre Variety a confermarlo. Le trattative con Laurie non sono andate a buon fine e l'attore non verrà coinvolto nel reboot/remake diretto da Jose Padilha. Nel cast del film, oltre a Kinnaman, ci sono Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Kenneth Williams, Jennifer Ehle, Jay Baruchel, Jackie Earle Haley e Abbie Cornish. La pellicola è prevista per il 9 agosto 2013. »
