Secondo quanto riportato da 'The Hollywood Reporter', Martin Scorsese è stato citato in giudizio dalla Cecchi Gori Pictures, a causa di un progetto che il regista Premio Oscar avrebbe dovuto realizzare 15 anni fa, e che non ha mai portato a termine. La compagnia di Vittorio Cecchi Gori avrebbe preso accordi con Scorsese e la sua Sikelia perché lui dirigesse Silence, tratto da un romanzo giapponese di Shusaku Endo su dei missionari mandati in Oriente nel 1683.
