Lo scorso ottobre la Warner Bros ha acquistato la sceneggiatura di Graham Moore, The Imitation Game comparsa sulla black list del 2011, per una cifra a sette zeri.
Lo script, basato sul libro di Andrew Hodges, Alan Turing: The Enigma, racconta la storia di Alan Touring, un matematico inglese, crittoanalista, scienziato del computer e logico. L’uomo fu arrestato e perseguito per omosessualità, un reato perseguibile in Inghilterra in quel periodo, e fu condannato alla castrazione chimica che lo rese impotente e gli provocò la crescita del seno. Si pensa che siano stati questi effetti ad indurre in seguito Turing a suicidarsi, mangiando una mela avvelenata con cianuro di potassio.
