E' il La Times a rivelare l'ingresso di un nuovo attore nel cast del remake americano di Old Boy, diretto da Spike Lee.
A quanto pare infatti la star di The Avengers Samuel L. Jackson ha ottenuto un ruolo:
Jackson si unisce al cast in un ruolo piccolo ma estremamente importante, secondo una fonte vicina alla produzione che non ha avuto il permesso di parlarne pubblicamente. L'attore, infatti, sarà l'uomo torturato dal protagonista (Josh Brolin) in una scena-chiave di vendetta.
I fan dell'originale ricorderanno la scena come forse la più viscerale e inquietante del film. Il protagonista Dae-su Oh si vendica sul suo guardiano estraendogli uno a uno i denti con la punta biforcuta di un martello.
