Tom Hardy and Michael Shannon to star as siblings in The Long Red Road

When two powerhouse actors pair together the result can be electric; draw you minds back to Paul Newman and Robert Redford in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and The Sting, Robert De Niro and Al Pacino in Heat and Christian Bale and Johnny Depp in Public Enemies. New casting news (via Variety) for the adaptation of Brett C. Leonard’s play The Long Red Road reports that Tom Hardy and Michael Shannon are set to star as the play’s two brothers.

The Long Red Road (which Hardy has already starred in on stage back in 2010) revolves around Sammy, who’ll be played by Hardy once again, drinking himself into an early grave on an Indian Reservation in South Dakota.
