The Master, l’atteso film di Paul Thomas Anderson ispirato (più o meno velatamente) alla vita di L. Ron Hubbard, fondatore di Scientology, andrà al Festival di Venezia, dove sarà proiettato il 1 settembre prima di approdare anche a Toronto. In attesa di vederlo approdare al Lido, vi mostriamo una nuova clip del film, che vede come protagonista Philip Seymour Hoffman nei panni del Maestro, il santone che fonda una setta religiosa ispirata a Scientology. L’uomo aiuterà Freddie (Joaquin Phoenix), un ex teppista che decide di cambiare vita, facendolo diventare il suo braccio destro. Ambientato nel secondo dopoguerra, il cast è arricchito anche da Amy Adams (la moglie di Hoffman), Laura Dern, Jesse Plemons e David Warshofsky.
Il film uscirà negli Stati Uniti il 14 settembre e sarà vietato ai minori, in quanto classificato R Rated.
