L’ultimo film degli X-Files, Voglio crederci risale ormai a quattro anni fa. Incassò 68 milioni di dollari in tutto il mondo con un budget di appena 25 milioni, un risultato non particolarmente entusiasmante ma neanche affatto male, tanto che la Fox non ha nascosto l’interesse di realizzare un terzo film.
Ma quanto è fattibile questo terzo capitolo? La scorsa settimana il produttore Frank Spotnitz aveva dichiarato di voler fare il seguito, nonostante il poco successo del film precedente:
“Assolutamente! Penso che tutti dovrebbero scrivere alla 20th Century Fox. Lo dico da anni ormai e penso che sia un crimine culturale non aver finito la serie. Il secondo film non è andato nel modo che nessuno voleva, al box office. Sono orgoglioso di quel film, ma per me ha senso che non abbia [avuto successo]. È stato distribuito in piena estate, ed era una ‘storia della settimana’.
Questo non è un film voluto dal pubblico del cinema. »
