The Bourne Trilogy has topped a list of the Best Conspiracy Theory Movies according to new poll of over 1,000 film fans by Universal Pictures (UK) to celebrate the release of the original Bourne trilogy on Blu-ray. Topping the list of conspiracy films with nearly a fifth of all votes (19.5%), the Bourne series beat the big screen adaptation of the controversial The Da Vinci Code (2006) starring Tom Hanks, which came second with 14%.

The Truman Show (1998) which starred Jim Carrey as a man who discovers his whole life has been a set-up reality TV show, was named third in the poll (9.3%) and beat director Martin Scorsese’s recent thriller Shutter Island (2010) which focused on Leonardo DiCaprio as a Us marshal investigating a disappearance (6.4%). Cult seventies film The Wicker Man (1973) starring Edward Woodward as a policeman who discovers a sinister Pagan cult on a remote Scottish island was fifth in the list with 5.5% of the votes, »
