is in final negotiations to join the cast of Thor: The Dark World
. The Brit actor is best known across the globe for playing the Doctor for just one year in 2005, before handing the baton to David Tennant
. According to THR, Eccleston’s currently in talks to play the lead villain in the comic-book sequel, which means he’d appear as the ruler of the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim. It's a role that was previously offered to Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen
