Not long ago we reported that The Crazies director Breck Eisner was in negotiations to direct Relativity Media's big screen adaptation of the toy Stretch Armstrong. The studio has issued a press release saying the deal is done, and Eisner is officially on board to direct it.
I wish the studio the best of luck with this movie because I don't think it's going to do as well as they hope. I've never been a big fan of Stretch, and I don't see there being a big market out there for it. I think Eisner is a talented director, but this isn't the kind of movie I thought he'd end up doing. Here's what he had to say in a statement,
This is a fantastic opportunity to create a world that is both fresh and exhilarating. What really excites me is the chance to build a hero from the ground up. »
