Un film d’amore con atmosfere thriller ambientato nel mondo dell’arte. È stato presentato così alla stampa La migliore offerta, il nuovo film di Giuseppe Tornatore. Il regista, che per l’occasione ha mostrato un backstage di 3 minuti con le primissime immagini, non ha voluto svelare molto della trama che vedrà protagonisti Geoffrey Rush nei panni di un battitore d’aste, Donald Sutherland in quelli del suo migliore amico, Sylvia Hoeks, una cliente di una casa d’asta, e Jim Sturgess un giovane molto abile nell’aggiustare congegni antichi. La pellicola è ambientata nel mondo delle case d’asta ma sarà l’amore a fare da perno alla vicenda.
