Since directing the surprisingly fun and suspenseful horror thriller The Crazies, director Breck Eisner has been linked to projects like Manhunt with Gerard Butler (which is apparently still in development) and the remake of Escape from New York that doesn't seem like it's getting off the ground anytime soon. Now Eisner is going in a slightly different direction as Heat Vision reports he is now negotiating to direct Stretch Armstrong, a film based on the toy which first appeared in 1976. The project has been developing at Relativity after the property fell away from Universal, which once attached Taylor Lautner to lead it. The project still doesn't have a male lead to play the titular elastic hero, but National Treasure: Book of Secrets scribe Greg Poirier has been hired to write the script.
