Vicino alla fine David, Michael Fassbender, un vecchio dottor Weyland, Guy Pearce, ed Elizabeth, Noomi Rapace, decidono di svegliare l’Ingegnere per sottoporgli alcune domande. Quando si risveglia dal sonno David chiede qualcosa nella lingua aliena e subito dopo l’Ingegnere decide di uccidere tutti. Il dialogo non è sottotitolato, per volere di Ridley Scott, ma il Dr. Anil Biltoo, consulente linguistico per il film, rivela cosa il cyborg ha detto esattamente all’alieno: “Quest’uomo è qui perché non vuole morire. Crede che tu possa prolungare la sua vita.”Chi ha già visto il film pensava che il soggetto del dialogo fosse qualcosa di offensivo, in realtà al posto dell'unica richiesta c'è tutta una serie di domande e risposte che sono state tagliate dalla pellicola. Scott comunque rende noto che il Blu-Ray avrà tutte le scene eliminate, comprese le sequenze con i sottotitoli. »
