Una versión cinematográfica de "Baywatch" ha estado en las obras durante años. En un momento, Eli Roth y Richard Kelly estaban tratando de convertir la propiedad en una comedia, pero Paramount Pictures rechazó su propuesta. Luego, en septiembre, el escritor Peter Toaln (Analyze This, "Rescue Me"), reveló que le entregó un nuevo proyecto al estudio con la esperanza de entrar en producción en breve.
