Non ci sarà né Martin Scorsese a dirigere il film, né Robert De Niro a interpretare il celebre Jake Lamotta in questo sequel (ma in parte anche prequel) del famoso Toro Scatenato. La pellicola dovrebbe raccontare la vecchiaia del pugile e ricordare alcune vicende avvenute durante l’adolescenza di Jake Lamotta. Le riprese del film, che si intitolerà semplicamente Raging Bull II (ovvero Toro scatenato II), inizieranno a breve negli studi della Universal a Los Angeles, dove il regista Martin Guigui e l’attore William Forsythe (che interpreterà il famoso pugile da anziano) sono già stati avvistati. La sceneggiatura è stata scritta da Guigui, il quale si sarebbe basato sull’omonimo libro di Chris Anderson, Sharon McGehee e Jake Lamotta, rispettando le memorie del pugile.
