Sì sa, Woody Allen ama realizzare film corali, unire il più strampalato e diversificato insieme d’attori (che pur di lavorare con lui si accontentano del salario sindacale) per poi riuscire a farli funzionare insieme, un po’ come fa un direttore con un’orchestra sinfonica. Ne è un esempio lampante anche il suo ultimo film To Rome with Love, che vantava del cast Alec Baldwin, Jesse Eisenberg, Ellen Page, Penelope Cruz, Judy Davis, Roberto Benighi e Greta Gerwig. Ma è quando riesce a convincere una personalità del mondo della politica o dello sport a mettersi in gioco in uno dei suoi che trova la massima soddisfazione, proprio com’è successo con Carla Bruni, presente in Midnight in Paris.
