Ethan Hawke sure has a passion for playing writer (no surprise really, given that he's one himself). He played one in "Before Sunrise," its follow-up "Before Sunset," and in his latest, "The Woman in the Fifth" (in theaters this Friday). Turns out he's at it again in his upcoming horror film, "Sinister," which premiered to good word of mouth as a 'secret screening' at this year's SXSW Film Festival, and just got a terrifying trailer. In the film, opening October 5, Hawke plays a true crime novelist who uncovers a box of home videos showing other families being brutally murdered. His investigation leads him to suspect that there is a supernatural element to the story, and that his own family may soon well be a target. Indiewire's Eric Kohn is a fan.
