1st July marks 15 years since Hong Kong was handed back to the Chinese by Great Britain. To commemorate this special occasion, the Hong Kong Economic Trade Office London, in association with the Terracotta Festival, has put together a fantastic programme of films from the region, including both the very latest big screen releases, highlights from the past fifteen years, and also a couple of timeless gems to delight British fans of Hong Kong Cinema.Taking place at the Odeon Covent Garden, London, from 2nd July until 14th July, the festival kicks off with Ann Hui's multi-award-winning drama, A Simple Life, starring Andy Lau and the highly decorated Deanie Ip, with writer-producer Roger Lee in attendance, on whose life the story is based.
