In molti hanno storto il naso quando abbiamo riportato l’annuncio del remake de I Magnifici Sette, indimenticabile western del 1960 targato John Sturges che a sua volta era liberamente ispirato a I Sette Samurai di Kurosawa.
Tom Cruise, che sta letteralmente vivendo una seconda giovinezza artistica, è stato fin da subito annunciato come possibile presenza del remake. Forse i possibili ingressi potrebbero convincere anche i più scettici.
Un nuovo rumor spuntato sul web parla di Matt Damon, Morgan Freeman e Kevin Costner come possibili co-protagonisti. Damon sarebbe in trattative per il ruolo di Vin (Steve McQueen nell’originale), Costner per quell di Britt (James Coburn) mentre per Cruise di parla di Chris (Yul Brynner) come possibile ruolo. Il premio Oscar Morgan Freeman interpreterebbe invece il villain Calvera.
Da notare come tutte e tre le nuove possibili star hanno già alle spalle almeno un western di grande successo: Matt Damon ha lavorato nel recente Il Grinta, »
