Peter Javidpour’s excellent recut of the ostensibly comedic Mrs. Doubtfire has surfaced and is currently making its rounds on the Internet. In addition to being masterfully edited and scored, this trailer reconfirms my suspicions that 90’s Robin Williams is the creepiest of all. Or am I alone on this? Was I the only toddler who was petrified by the genie in Aladdin? Anyone? Anyone at all?

Of course, this just begs the question as to how long it will take for people to recognize how funny revamped movie trailers can be. It’s not that this is the first instance; they’ve been around for quite some time. Take Shining from 2006, which transforms Stephen King’s novel-cum-horror flick into a lighthearted film for the entire family.
