Director Wes Anderson runs all of his movie scripts by his best friend Owen Wilson to approve before submitting them to studio executives.

The Royal Tenenbaums filmmaker has been good pals with Wilson ever since meeting at the University of Texas, where they became roommates, and the pair has become frequent collaborators, with the comedian appearing in a number of Anderson's features, including The Darjeeling Limited and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.

And Anderson admits Wilson's input is essential to his work process.

He tells Harper's Bazaar magazine, "I always show Owen the script. We went to school together, so that's what goes back the furthest. He has been the main, central collaboration for my whole body of work."
