For a while now we’ve known True Blood’s fifth season would be the last for the show’s creator, Alan Ball, and we can now say for certain who will be replacing him as showrunner going into Season 6. Before I get to his or her identity, I think it’s important to acknowledge the hard work Ball has put into the last five years of HBO’s popular vampire soap opera. This isn’t a job just anyone could do, and I’m sure things will be different with Ball gone, although he will still be kicking around in some capacity; he just won’t be calling the shots anymore.
