HBO 'Veep' star Julia Louis-Dreyfus helped to spearhead the ban on plastic in Los Angeles. The city became the largest in the nation Wednesday to approve a ban on plastic bags at supermarket checkout lines, handing a victory to environmentalists. The Los Angeles Times reports that Louis-Dreyfus joined environmental groups, as the City Council voted 13 to 1 to end plastic bags over the next 12 months at an estimated 7,500 stores.
