Struggling to be honest with the ones we love. All that concern about hurting their feelings. It proved a crippling factor throughout this week's installment of "Modern Family" (Wed., 9 p.m. Et on ABC). Phil abhors confrontation of any kind, so he was reluctant to let Mitchell go -- Mitchell had agreed to help on the legal end with Phil's new business on a temporary basis.
At the same time, Mitchell was trying to figure out how to tell Phil he really didn't want to keep helping much longer. Yes, they were on the same page, but afraid to say anything to one another.
The funniest moment came when Gloria got jealous of a waitress and convinced Jay they should be more open and honest with one another. So he told her she was just a little bit loud. The only thing funnier than loudly yelling Gloria is quietly yelling Gloria. »
