El rapero de los Beastie Boys Adam Yauch (McA nombre artístico), quien también fundó la empresa de cine independiente Oscilloscope Pictures y recientemente fue incluido en el Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, ha muerto a la edad de 47 años. En el 2009, Yauch fue tratado por una glándula parótida cancerosa y un ganglio linfático y se sometió a cirugía y radioterapia, lo que retrasó la liberación del álbum Hot Sauce Committee del grupo y una gira que incluye una ranura de titurares en el Lollapalooza.
