We have some updates for you today regarding writers of some upcoming feature films.  Here they are at a glance: Relativity and Hasbro have landed Dean Georgaris (The Manchurian Candidate) to pen a treatment of Stretch Armstrong, which opens April 11th, 2014. The writing team of David Weiss and David Stem (The Smurfs) will pen The Ringling Brothers for Paramount. Hit the jump for much more on each of these stories. Variety reports that Georgaris will write Stretch Armstrong, an adaptation of the popular toy that hopes to spark a franchise.  The picture will be more of a family-friendly action movie than a cartoonish kids-only affair.  Taylor Lautner (The Twilight Saga) was previously attached to star with Rob Letterman (Gulliver's Travels) directing, but neither is involved with the project anymore.  Georgaris' other writing credits include Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, Paycheck and Tristan + Isolde.
