Deadline reports that Zak Penn - who has scripted comic book movies such as The Incredible Hulk, Elektra, and will receive a story-by credit for Marvel's The Avengers - is launching his own comic series via Avatar Press. The series, called Hero Worship, will launch in July. Penn will co-write the six issue series with Scott Murphy (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), and the issues will be drawn by Michael Dipascale. It centers on Zenith, a character described as "an indestructible hero who has legions of fans following every disaster, trying to catch a glimpse of the ultimate celebrity and risking their own lives in the process. One of his fans becomes so obsessed it leads to the development of his own powers." Below is the cover for the first issue: Do you plan on checking this series out this summer?
