"Zyzzyx Road" -- reportedly the lowest grossing film of all time -- is getting a summer digital release though GoDigital, it was announced today. Starring Katherine Heigl and Tom Sizemore, the film gained minor notoriety when it grossed only $30 back in 2006. The film shown just once a day for seven days at a small theater in Dallas, Texas to fulfill the U.S. release obligation required by the Screen Actors Guild for low-budget films. Though not technically an official theatrical run, the numbers received considerable press including a n article in Entertainment Weekly by the name of “The Strange and Twisted Tale of… The Movie That Grossed $30.00."
