Ya en el 2006, hubo un rumor de que una secuela de "Raging Bull" de Martin Scorsese, estaba en las obras, basada en el libro "Raging Bull II" de Chris Anderson, Sharon McGehee y Jake Lamotta. Luego se supo que la nueva película será a la vez una precuela y una secuela, con los acontecimientos que giran en torno a un joven Jake Lamotta y luego recoge después de la película de Scorsese. Robert De Niro no repetirá su papel. El papel mayor en vez será interpretado por William Forsythe. El director Martin Guigui tiene previsto comenzar a rodar en junio y actualmente está buscando un actor para interpretar a Lamotta en sus primeros años.
