Un granjero de Yorkshire, durante un viaje a Liverpool, encuentra por las calles a un chico sin hogar y se lo lleva consigo a su casa para que viva allí como parte de su familia, en los aislados páramos de Yorkshire, donde el joven forja una obsesiva relación con la hija del granjero.
