Russian director Sergey Bodrov, best known to art-house audiences for his foreign-language dramas Prisoner of the Mountains and Mongol, continued to prep for his first Hollywood production, The Seventh Son, an adaptation of Joseph Delaney's The Spook’s Apprentice fantasy novels about the seventh son of a seventh son who learns how to be a wizard from a spook. Variety reported that Bodrov prepared for an April start date by casting Man of Steel villainess Antje Trau to join The Seventh Son in an unknown role. Trau joined previous cast members on the Legendary Pictures production including Jeff Bridges, Ben Barnes, Julianne Moore and Alicia Vikander. Bodrov also joined the production as producer along with Thomas Tull of Legendary and Basil Iwanyk and Lionel Wigram from Thunder Road. »
