Sons of Anarchy

"Sons Of Anarchy" creator Kurt Sutter has signed a three-year overall deal with FX Prods and 20th Century Fox TV. The deal keeps Sutter at the helm of the flagship drama series and allows him to develop shows for both cable and broadcast.

More importantly FX has also renewed the show for another year on top of the recent fifth season pickup, bringing it to a total of six seasons. Sutter has previously indicated that he's been aiming for a seven season run of the show and now he's likely to get it. The fifth season of 'Anarchy' kicks off in the Fall. [Source: Digital Spy]

Boardwalk Empire

Bobby Cannavale ("Shall We Dance," "Will and Grace") has joined the cast of HBO's "Boardwalk Empire" for its upcoming third season.

The actor comes in as numerous other regulars are not returning to the period drama including Michael Pitt, Dabney Coleman and Paz de la Huerta. »
