After what has seemed like years of pre-production and monster casting troubles — Angelina Jolie, Natalie Portman and Robert Downey Jr. all attached, then pulled out of the project — we’re finally getting plot details on Alfonso Cuarón‘s sci-fi thriller Gravity. According to JoBlo, Warner Bros. just released the synopsis for the film and if you’ve been waiting as long as I have for this information, don’t waste any time and read it below:

Sandra Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone–tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness.

The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. »
