We reported yesterday that actor and former Johnny Storm, Chris Evans was seriously considering taking the lead role as America’s first avenger: Captain America. Well, it’s been confirmed! Over the past few weeks there have been lots of stories about casting; Joe Johnston (director) was searching for an unknown, and like Donald Rumsfeld infamously stated, there are known unknowns we know about! I guess Chris Evans falls into that category! He’s a known actor, but he’s no mega-star.
Evans has been signed to a staggering nine picture deal for $300,000 and part of the deal (included in the potential nine films) are sequels and appearances in other Marvel universe films. Evans is no newbie to the superhero movie or Marvel’s universe. He played The Human Torch in Tim Story’s Fantastic Four films.
Evans beat some great up-and-coming actors (real known unknowns!) to bag the role »
