Amanda Seyfried Searches For Her Kidnapped Sister In The Trailer For Gone

There's a long tradition of "women-in-peril" movies out there, and nearly as long a tradition of flipping that on its head and tasking the female lead with conquering her fears and taking revenge on her abductor/abuser/rapist/manipulator. I'll leave the deeper implications of those trends to Women's Studies courses the world over, but now Amanda Seyfried is the latest star to take a stab at empowering her gender on the big screen. Take a look at the trailer for her upcoming crime thriller, Gone. Directed by Heitor Dhalia, Gone was penned by screenwriter Allison Burnett (Underworld Awakening). The flick stars Seyfried as Jill, a woman who is convinced that her sister has been abducted by the same serial killer who napped her two years earlier.
