Al momento la notizia è solamente un rumor, dato che la Warner non ha ancora né confermato né negato quanto riportato dal sito Think McFly Think, ovvero che gli esecutive della Warner sono così felici del footage realizzato fino a questo momento di The Man of Steel che hanno già compilato una lista di possibili sceneggiatori che potrebbero lavorare al sequel.Sono tre gli scrittori che lo studio ha in mente: Steve Kloves (sette degli otto film di Harry Potter, Akira), Travis Beacham (Pacific Rim, Scontro tra Titani) e Lawrence Kasdan (I predatori dell'arca perduta, L'impero colpisce ancora e Paradise Lost). I nomi più probabili potrebbero essere Kloves e Kasdan, sono quelli che hanno ottenuto più successi. Dalla lista manca invece David S.
