A l'instar de Shrek ou de l'Âge de Glace, la série des Madagascar s'offre un troisième épisode et celui-ci est annoncé pour le 06 juin 2012. On y retrouvera avec un certain plaisir les personnages aussi sympathiques que colorés. Comme le veux, les deux premiers épisodes, on devrait retrouver au doublage américain Ben Stiller, David Schwimmer et Chris Rock. En France, José Garcia, Jean-Paul Rouve et Marina Foïs devraient, selon toutes vraisemblances, reprendre leur personnage respectif que l'on retrouve sur l'affiche publiée. En effet, cette dernière montre Alex (le lion), Gloria (l'hypopothame), Mehlman (la girafe), et Marty (Le zèbre) sur fond de couleurs psychédéliques des années 70.
