Though it premiered to a decent 1.9 million viewers in its first-season premiere back in June, Lifetime Ally Walker drama "The Protector" subsequently slid in the Nielsen ratings - to the tune of less than 1 million viewers in its most recent episode (in a new Monday time slot). The fledgling series (which we gave a less-than-favorable review to) has now been cancelled by the female-skewing network, though they have pledged to air the remaining few first-season episodes before pulling the plug later this month.
