Two-time Academy Award–nominated actor Djimon Hounsou has no problem playing a monster on screen... as long as the part's writer has a good pedigree.
Hounsou last played the monstrous Caliban in 2010's adaptation of Shakespeare's The Tempest. Now, he's set to play a far more terrible creature in Paradise Lost, an adaptation of John Milton's 17-century poem. According to Deadline, Hounsou will play Abdiel, the angel of death. Bradley Cooper is set to play Lucifer and Benjamin Walker the chief archangel Michael.
