The North American premiere of Splice, a France-Canadian co-production, directed by Vincenzo Natali in Toronto, will screen at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival in January, during the Park City At Midnight program. Filmed in Toronto at Black Creek Pioneer Village, Cinespace Film Studios and York University, Splice follows 'Elsa' and 'Clive', two scientists who defy ethical boundaries by conducting a bizarre experiment, splicing together human and animal DNA to create a hybrid, humanoid organism. Named 'Dren', the creature develops from a deformed female into a beautiful winged chimera, forging a bond with both creators.
