Da un po’ di tempo gira voce che i fratelli Coen stiano lavorando a un musical, o comunque un film legato alla musica. Ora arriva una mezza conferma dal Los Angeles Times: i Coen starebbero scrivendo una sceneggiatura basata sulla vita di Dave van Ronk, fondatore della scena folk newyorchese che negli anni sessanta fece da “padrino” ad artisti come Bob Dylan e Joni Mitchell. Tempo fa, in un incontro pubblico col regista Noah Baumbach, i Coen hanno paragonato il loro prossimo film a Il matrimonio di mia sorella, promettendo uno stile realistico fatto di dialoghi improvvisati e la sensazione di essere catapultati in un mondo in medias res. Il film, a quanto sembra, sarà in parte tratto dall’autobiografia di van Ronk, “The Mayor of MacDougal Street”, pubblicata a tre anni dalla sua morte, avvenuta nel 2002.
