Actor Dennis Hopper stepped out for the first time since announcing he is fighting cancer - at a fundraising event in support of those suffering from the disease.
The Easy Rider legend's manager Sam Maydew confirmed the star had prostate cancer last month after Hopper had been admitted to hospital suffering from "severe flu-like symptoms".
He swiftly cancelled all travel arrangements and promotional events to focus on beating the illness, but made time to attend the Breeders' Cup horse-racing event in support of The V Foundation for Cancer Research on Saturday.
And the star insists he is feeling confident he can overcome the cancer, adding that the radical treatment he is undergoing at the University of Southern California is showing "great promise". »
