The champion of last year's U.S. reality TV competition Big Brother has been arrested in a narcotics bust, after he allegedly used his $500,000 (£333,330) winnings to fund a drug-dealing business.

Adam 'Baller' Jasinski was detained on Saturday night by officers from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), who allegedly caught him with 2,000 oxycodone pills during an attempted drug deal in North Reading, Massachusetts. The pills are also known as "hillbilly heroin".

According to police, Jasinski admitted funding a drug distribution venture with his winnings from the show.

He was jailed and charged with drug possession with intent to distribute, and will remain in police custody until his next hearing on Thursday, reports TMZ.com.

Jasinki faces up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million (£666,670) fine.
