TV Ratings: Billboard Music Awards up from 2006, CBS wins in total viewers

Fast national ratings for Sunday, May 22, 2011.

ABC won the target demo last night, on the final Sunday of the season, with the 2011 Billboard Music Awards featuring a show-stopping performance from Beyonce and, of course, that Justin Bieber/Selena Gomez kiss that has teenyboppers rending their garments across the nation. The show's ratings were up 7% from the last broadcast in 2006.

On NBC, the "Celebrity Apprentice" finale had a significant boost from last week's episode, rising over 15% in total viewers, while Fox's Animation Domination finales were lower than the last original episodes of their respective series. CBS broadcast "Jesse Stone: Innocents Lost," and though it helped to win the night for CBS in total viewership, it didn't win in the target demo.

Overall, CBS averaged 12.1 million viewers and scored a 7.8 rating/13 share in households. ABC followed with 7.4 million and a 4.3/7 share, with NBC in third (6.4 million, 4.0/6) and Fox (4.5, 2.6/4) in fourth.
