Francis Ford Coppola's epic war movie, Apocalypse Now, returns to cinemas from 27th May courtesy of the ace Optimum Releasing and will receive a Blu-ray release on 13th June. The digital restoration print of the original theatrical release (not the redux) looks spectacular. There's no other word to describe it. We'll be reviewing the film (and the Blu-ray) closer to their respective release dates.
In the meantime check out the new trailer and artwork! The 3-disc release is chock full of extras for newbies and those obsessed with the film (like me) to pour over. Included on the disc is the infamous documentary Hearts of Darkness, which was subtitled 'A Filmmaker's Apocalyse'. There's also brand new interviews, storyboards and a collectible booklet.
