The Hollywood Reporter writes that John Oliver and Rory Albanese, who write for Jon Stewart on The Daily Show, have received a blind script deal from Paramount. The two will be begin work on a comedy project that isn't completely fleshed out yet, Oliver says:
We pitched it as being the most critically acclaimed and profitable movie in Hollywood history. They were particularly interested in the second part of that. As to exactly what it will be, I think it's far too early for those trifling details.
Oliver most recently had a role in The Love Guru and also starred in his own hour-long comedy special, John Oliver: Terrifying Times. Albanese is an executive producer on The Daily Show and also acted as a contributing producer for the 2006 Academy Awards and has won two Emmy Awards. Albanese jokingly claimed he wasn't aware of the magnitude of the deal he and Oliver struck. »
