A police investigation into the tragic death of John Travolta's son Jett has officially been closed.

Authorities in the Bahamas have called off the case after concluding there was no foul play in the 16-year-old's death, caused by a seizure on Friday, reports Radar Magazine.

Travolta family friend and Bahamian Parliament Member Obie Wilchcombe says, "The pathologists who carried out the autopsy made their report, and the police determined that there was no foul play, no suspicious circumstances."

Meanwhile, the Pulp Fiction star and his actress wife Kelly Preston are at their home in Ocala, Florida preparing to lay Jett to rest at a memorial service, to be held on Thursday.

Wilchcombe adds, "I talked to their doctor, Dr Mark Smith, and he told me they are getting some much-needed rest."

Travolta and Preston left their holiday home in the Bahamas on Monday with an urn containing their son's ashes. Jett was cremated on Monday after the autopsy was completed.
